Biography
Ravi Ramamoorthi is the Ronald L. Graham Professor of Computer Science at the University of California, San Diego and founding Director of the UC San Diego Center for Visual Computing. He is an author of more than 150 publications, including more than 70 at SIGGRAPH; he is a fellow of IEEE and ACM. He has received a number of awards, including the PECASE for his work on physics-based vision and the ACM SIGGRAPH Significant New Researcher Award for his work on mathematical representations and computational models for visual appearance. His research interests lie in all aspects of computer graphics rendering and appearance modeling, as well as computational imaging and photography problems, especially light field imaging.
