DescriptionWe propose a novel method to present the internal structure of volumetric data using midair haptics to solve the occlusion problem in volumetric visualization. The proposed method simplifies internal structures by approximating them using a Gaussian mixture model (GMM) and converts them into haptic stimuli. We applied this technique to 3D microscopy.
